About Us

Claire

Hello, I have been a Counselling Psychologist for fourteen years. I started my healing journey when I began my training. I trained to become a psychologist, following growing up in a challenging family environment, I had a curiosity about people and wanted to make sense of my childhood, its pains, and ultimately discover deeper meaning in my life. I had also learned to look after others from an early age, so taking care of others felt like the natural path. It was essential as part of my training to engage in my own psychotherapy, and this provided the mother energy so absent in my early years. Through the training and therapy, I learned about my own repetitive patterns of behaviour and made sense of why I kept bumping into relationships that didn’t serve me and repeated early attachment wounds. On discovering my authentic self by the time I was 38 I met my husband, and of course the learning continued. Growing up with a dad and brother, I fell into early patterns of looking after everyone. I lost myself for five years and prioritised others. On waking up, my healing journey continues and at my mid-life, I am the closest I have been to me, I have a consistent friend inside and excited for what continues to emerge.

During my professional career, I have run many psychological healing groups for women as I am passionate about supporting women to find their true, authentic selves. I create a safe, comfortable, and nurturing space where you can hear the different parts of yourselves, through a non-judgemental lens and at a pace that feels right for you. As well as holding and containing space for you, I will support you to cultivate an inner friend inside yourself, who will be with you once you leave the retreat, and always accessible. My therapeutic stance is that we are all doing our best with the resources that we have at any given moment. I weave in a range of therapeutic approaches in my groups that echo that philosophy and create a space that is gentle, nurturing, insightful and fundamentally safe. I offer a way of being that can be applied to daily life, that you can take away in support of making being human that little bit easier. I met Catriona whilst on my own healing journey and therefore feel so passionate about supporting other women to understand who they are, why we might bump into patterns of behaviour that have a detrimental impact on us and how to gently nurture ourselves through such challenges and difficulties. The healing journey can feel like a dark tunnel, and we want to be alongside you, to reduce the isolation, fear and loneliness and help to shine a light of hope for the future. My hope for you is that you leave the retreat with a greater awareness of who you are, a compassionate understanding of the different parts of you, how those parts have been trying to protect you AND ultimately that you feel you have YOU to support YOU going forward.

Catriona

Hi, I’d like to introduce myself and hopefully give you a better understanding of who I am and how my healing journey began, many years ago!!

I’m Catriona and my healing journey started over 20 years ago when I got pregnant with my first child. My passion and love for Yoga and overall well-being started with Pregnancy Yoga. All my pregnancy experiences were transformed because of Yoga, breathwork and Meditation. Embodying movement with breathwork helped me stay calm, centred, relaxed and strong in body and mind throughout my pregnancy and birth of all my 3 beautiful children.

When my first child was born little did I know the next chapter of my healing journey, and the toughest, was to begin. He was born with profound special needs, and through him I decided to broaden my knowledge of Holistic Healing. Over the years I’ve qualified in many holistic modalities including Aromatherapy, Aromatherapy Massage Therapist, Chinese Cupping, Hopi Ear, Pregnancy Massage, Baby Massage, Reiki Master. I ran my own Holistic business for many years but due to my son’s health I had to take a step back from my business.

My passion for Yoga, Mediation, body/mind connection grew more and more over the years and when I decided to train as a Yoga/Meditation Instructor a fire ignited within me on numerous different levels, and I recognised that I was drawn to sharing the power of Yoga with others. To increase my understanding and knowledge I completed a 200-hour Hatha training and a 200-hour Vinyasa training. I have also completed 100 hour training in Yin and Restorative Yoga. All comprehensive courses equipped me with the knowledge and skills required to teach yoga safely and effectively. My style of teaching is influenced by both types of yoga. I believe in creating a practice that blends breathing awareness, movement and contemplative meditation. I help you reconnect with the intelligence of your body so you can feel calmer and more present for your life. I know that when you can feel calm and connected to yourself, we have more capacity and potential to create meaningful change in our lives. Just like Claire, my hope for you is that you leave the retreat with a greater awareness of who you truly are and a deeper understanding of your mind and body connection. I’m so excited about this new chapter and adventure myself and Claire have created and look forward to sharing the experience with as many women as possible.
